ive been wondering about vibrato
does vibrato come from your fingers?
or from your wrists
ive seen quite a few methods, with just the fingers moving, or like the entire wrist is just shaking violently on the neck of the guitar.
is there a "correct" method?
or is it personal preference?

Fingers. But extreme vibrato with your index finger will result in your wrist moving. All depends on your style.
Its mainly your fingers. I'm a violin player and what we do for practicing our vibrato is to shake an egg (real egg or plastic easter egg because it fits in the shape of your hand/palm) slowly, forward and back, forward and back.
After practicing that, imitate what vibrato looks like (move each individual finger left and right) with your thumb in one place.
Also, I dont like your wrist shaking violently counts as vibrato..=/
