I want to master the guitar?!
Question: I'm sixteen, and even though I feel like it's a bit too late for me to learn, I want to be able to master the guitar. I'm planning to start off with an acoustic guitar.If I put my mind to it, how long would it take me to play guitar well?

About 7 months or so to get pretty good at it, it depends on the person tho, and you will probably get really good at it in about 2 years. But no one is too old to pick it up, if you start trying to learn it- you will just keep getting better and better. And you can look up songs online at like UltimateGuitarTabs, and they have really simple ways to show you how to play a song.. so i would deffinetly do it, if you love music, you'll love the guitar.

There's no set amount of time someone take to learn everyone lears at their own rate i tool up the guitar at 21 and got a cheap ￡20 acoustic i'm now at the stage where i want to progress on to a semi-acoustic eletric guitar the ultimate being a Gretsch (which i'll never be able to afford) the best way to learn is through lessons once you've mastered some of the basics i would suggest trying a DVD called Now Play It (as well as lessons) where artists like Supergrass & KT Tunstall teach you how to play their songs
it definitely depends on commitment and skill. a lot of people are just born with talent. i know a kid named jake who started playing guitar 9 months ago and he's pretty damn good.
and to get better quicker, lessons are the way to go.
I've Been Playing A Year (Actually Got A New Guitar Yesterday- Dave Mustaine Custom...) & I Must Say... I Am The Most Useless Guitarist Of All Time. Feel The Same About Starting Too Late, But If I Cant I'll Just Join An Indie Band (1 Chord wonders As I call Em, I Can Do That X D).

Btw Slash Started Playing While He Was About 16 (Though It amy Of Been 15 But There's Sod All Difference0 & look At Him. You May Also Wish To Consider buying An Electric, More Fun & Less Boring Than Acuostics, Just Get A Cheap One With An Amp.
make sure you can push the yellow and orange at the same time and alternate that between green and blue and you'll be just fine up to ''hard".
