Check out Life's Been Good by Joel Walsh before you make any determination on great guitar solos. You may be pleasantly surprised.
My personal favorite is the solo towards the end of Coheed and Cambria's song "Welcome Home." It may not be THE GREATEST, but in my opinion it's probably one of the more underrated solos.
