How can 1 be a christain & like rock music at the same time?!

Question: that sounds awfully strange to me and she just a young teen

Answers: that sounds awfully strange to me and she just a young teen

You can't. We're all a bunch of satan worshiping, child sacrificing, blood drinking whack-jobs. :)

try 2 listen 2 christian rock genre

whats so wrong about that? im a Christian amd i listen to rock music.

Christian rock maybe?

Why cant Christians enjoy rock music? There are many Christian musicians in the rock music genre. Rock music doesnt have to be all about sex and drugs.

I think you have some misconceptions on Christianity.

What's wrong with rock? Artistic preference does not have to disqualify a person from practicing a certain religion . . .

CHRISTAIN ROCK BABY!!!! WOOOOOO

im not christain btw...i don't know what i am...teehee

What is she supposed to listen to? Only Christian music??? Whatever. Religion has nothing to do with what kind of music you listen to. I know plenty of Christian people that like heavy metal music and some like rap. I know very few people that listen to gospel music. You like what you like.

what are u talking about dam you christain are stupid

u can be a christian and listen to rock music.. religion is not based on what music u like but on the good deeds u do to others and to yourself

LOL Jesus had a rock stars hair style. He would have loved to head bang to Guns and Roses

are you an old person? We all have different likes and dislikes. we are all INDIVIDUALS, so we all like things that other people may not like. What you are asking is like asking, "Why do people ask questions on Yahoo Answers?" uh, because they LIKE it.

Hey being a Chritian doesnt mean your from outer space or anything I love Music...especially Rock! Its not about religion and Rock music will not send you to hell!

There's an expanding genre of christian rock bands out there. I'm not christian so i don't know if there's anything specific about that kind of music, or perhaps your views are a little conservative. A lot of people at my school listen to rock and alternative music.

I don't understand the structure of your questions.

It is easy; you can love God and listen to Rock music. It isn't the END OF THE WORLD, just the same with someone that perhaps, say, smokes cigarettes and loves God. You'll get to heaven, if that is the real questions, but is there a better way?

Here is how your question should have been asked, I believe, if I may interrupt; "Can I be a Christain and still like/listen/play Rock music and go to heaven?"

a Christian and likes rock music at the same time? totally nothing wrong with that. Try Hillsong, Casting Crowns, Stellar Kart, and such. in the first place, it was God who gave us the gift of music, so we can use it to praise Him. i dont see anything bad about that.
who cares if you rap or rock on? as long as it isnt blasphemous and you check the words for double meanings or backmasking, you're good to go!

Be selective in what you listen to. Rock music isn't evil or bad, but the songs are. Look I've listened to a lot of music and I've found that in Jazz, country and western, folk music they all have the same subject matter only in a different venue. They all have songs on sex, they all have songs on hatred, they all have songs on stealing, they all have songs on revenge.
But, they all have songs of God, they all have songs on real love, they all have songs on everyday living, just like Rock and Roll.
Be selective in what you listen to. For example: Led Zeppelin three songs of that band, one on the history of England called "the immigration" song, Another song on the love of a friend and the title escapes me right now, but a third song is a cover song from the jazz of New Orleans written by a woman.... "When the Levee Breaks".
What is wrong with them? Particularly the song "When the Levee Breaks" That one song is originally a Jazz tune about the horror of what would be when the levee breaks and hurricane Katrina showed the validity of the song written decades before it happened.
Then the "Immagration" song is a historical song on when the Vikings invasion of England, what's wrong with that?
Then there's "The Beatles", they never wrote a song that suggested you tell your parent to sod off, or go damage a military site in protest. All of their songs were just daily living songs and adventure songs and love songs.
You can be a Christian and listen to all venues of music including Rock and Roll. You just have to think about what song you are listening to. If the song is full of hatred then reject it. If the song is simply a song that sings about memories and things then I would have to ask ...what's wrong with that?
Simon and Garfunkel's " Homeward Bound" is a wishful song. It doesn't suggest any evil just a longing for home, isn't that like us Christians? We long for home? We wait for the Christ to take us home?
Be selective to what you listen to no matter what venue the radio or your own listening track is playing. If the song spouts hatred then dismiss the ugly tune and evil words, don't listen to it.
It isn't strange to listen to music of a different beat. It can look hypocritical, but then do we really know the heart of the listener. You cannot read the one who reads the Bible and make a decision on that. You have to read the source itself and make your mind up. The source is the Judaic/Christian bible, not the adherents of the books. We humans, Christian or not are in a state of trespass on a daily basis, the Christian acknowledges that and puts their faith in the Christ, not their good actions. Any one can be good, anyone can act good, but what of your faith?

i dont know tell me!

as long as she doesnt start listening to extreme satan-loving death metal bands then I wouldnt worry.

Listening to rock music doesn't mean your anti-Christ. I listen to many different rock bands including some satanic bands but i still am very religious (I'm 18 and i started listening to rock and metal around 11 12). What you could do is encourage her to listen to Christan rock bands like P.O.D. or Under oath. Their are also many bands who do not consider themselfs christain rock but are they dont sing about evil things, such as Creed and Everescense. a few days ago i was reading about a hardcore band named All That Remains and the lead singer said
'we are not a christian band, we are a bunch of christains that play in a band'

Believe it or not, this isn't 1954 and rock music wasn't created by Satan

yeay, christian rock would be good or jus rock that doesn't talk about sex drugs and etc.

arent chirstians allowed to listen to whatever music they like?
i know loads of christians who love gothic/rock/death metal music

There is nothing wrong with listening to rock music. There is a myth about it that it secretly holds a satanic message. Well, guess again folks. Rock music doesn't have anything wrong with it except maybe a headache if it gets too loud, while the Pokemon rap song states "i love you satan I love you satan" if played backwards. I am personally a christian and I love rock. Its also kind of like comparing it to "how can one be a christain and like country music at the same time"

Creed, Third Day, etc.

That's pretty much how.

Im in a rock band, and im a christian. its shouldnt be that hard of a concept to grasp.

i'm a christian and i breath rock music..whats the problem with that?? just be religious and rock out!!

why is it strange?what, if you are christain you are not allowed to listen rock music?i think i'm christain and i listen rock music.i don't see what's wrong with that.religion doesn't chooses the music taste.

Christians are not perfect just forgiven. YES Christians sin. No, christian are not supposed to be hooked on rock music. I say if you love rock music and your a christian you need to look into who is your first love. Probably lost your first love.
Turkey you KNOW the answer to this.
and don't tell me there is misspelled words here.

there's nothing wrong about rock music!
i think you're actually talking about metal music, though i know this guy. he's studying for a priest and he listens to new age metal!

You can still like things and be a Christian at the same time. You dont have to agree with the words to like the rythym and the beat of music.*
