Question: if you go to http://www.myspace.com/inflames they have uploaded thier new record "a sense of purpose" untill aprl 2nd I think. go check it out and tell what you think. if you like it great, if not I could care less, so insult it all you want. however, I still want to read what you think. I think some of it is good and some of it is gay.

I think this is their best album since Colony.. Instrumentally and Vocally, however I get this feel that all of the songs on the album kind of sound the same but the more I listen to it, after 2-3 times, all that changes and you can tell the songs apart.. But it is definently a step up, it sounds to me like they went back to that gothenburg sound.. How would we feel though if EVERY, SINGLE album sounded exactly the same? In Flames is one of the few Melo-Death Metal bands to evolve throughout the years.... The only song I didn't really like was Alias.. So far my favorite song on it is Sleepless Again, and that is a very interesting Ballad, probabley the best clean vocals he has ever done.. The album reminds me of a dash of Reroute To Remain and Whoracle..
The Mirror's Truth - 5/10 Worse song on the album, most radio friendly, nothing special..
Disconnected - 7/10 - good song, however, In Flames don't need to curse to express themselves.. This song probabley has the shortest guitar solo on the album..
Sleepless Again - 10/10 - Acoustic, most memorable song on the album, kickass chorus, and a nice long guitar solo plus more acoustic, and awesome bridges in between verse and chorus's with a keyboard and guitar, easily the best song on the album..
Alias - 6/10 - The vocals on this song suck except for in the Chorus, the bridge is memorable but sounds kind of gay, reminds me of something I'v heard from another band, I just can't think of it..
The rest of the album is very good, the songs would get rated from a 8/10 - 10/10, the ballad which is 8 minutes long, is very good, but it drags on too long, but still gets a good rating out of me..
I think the world is ready for this change and direction of music.. We need to look towards the future, which is exactly what bands have been doing, as I listen closley to new albums coming out, they feel much more "futuristic." This is the year 2008, not 10, not 20 or 30 years ago..
the album's great, I'm trying to find good new music and they're great. thanks. But I don't think they'll sell it in my country tho Report It
