Guitar pedal problem.....PLZ help?!
Question: I just got my first guitar pedal its a Zakk Wylde overdrive pedal and every time i plug it into neither my Line 6 Spider lll or my Crate GTD 120 it screechs at me, and i'm not sure how to get the Zakk Wylde tone out of it.
Does anyone no what settings i should put on the pedal and witch amp would go better with it.Cuz i'm so lost right now.
P.S. Its not the cables i'm using i checked them.

I don't know what effects your amps have onboard, but you need to start by turning them all off. Next, start with your pre-amp gain low and turn up with your master volume. As the previous guy said, make sure distortions or overdrives are completely off. Once you have a completely dry, clean /bypass sound, turn your new pedal on with the gain at a fairly low level and slowly add more gain until you get the tone you're looking for. Once you are happy with your distortion level, you can begin to experiment with adding delay, reverb, or whatever effects your amp includes. Keep in mind that Zakk uses a $4500 custom-built Les Paul loaded with the hottest EMG pickups on the planet! His tone is also very much in his fingers, so don't expect a miracle! Good luck!
make sure your amp's distortion is off (make sure it is on a clean setting), otherwise it will interfere with the overdrive coming from the pedal and create musical chaos :)
you want to but your amp setting on a clean channel and run your pedal through the effets loop...........sorry dude but just because you get a signature pedal..... doesnt mean you'll get their tone.
