I'm trying to right a song... Help???!

Question: Okay so I taught myself how to play the guitar recently and I'm pretty decent at it.. My older sister is really good and has written a few songs and they turned out great, she also said it's very theriputic so I have something I want to right a song about but I'm having a hard time expressing it like I want to... Any suggestions that could help me??

Think of something that you fell passionately about. Then go from there. Most songs that i hear are about people breaking up, cheating on each other, dying.... things that cause emotion passion make a song that is like poetry. Make a pome...then add notes. However you have to understand the theroy of music to make a true song. You have to pick a key, then use cords and follow a chart to see what cords you can go to. You can use noncordial tones as long as they are in the key signature. If they aren't then you have accidentals. There are classes that are there to help...email me if you have any questions.

Name all of the things you like then try to make them rhyme

Find somewhere quiet where no one is around.. and just start thinking. What made you feel the way you did today? Start writing everything down and trying to make it rhyme if you can. Try to get in a really mellow mood - calm and quiet space where you can really get in touch w/ your feelings.

figure out what kind of emotions the melody you've written portrays, remember that music describes the human condition, and think of what kind of events come to mind when you hear that melody.

um...this is my song...i made it on the top of my head(i love writing songs)
um...
I've always lived without you,
But now I can't leave you,
Cuz times are passing,
Things are changing,
Life is leaving...
Can't feel you breathing...
[Chorus]
But I guess I'm gonna have to hurt,
But I guess I'm gonna have to cry,
To let you go all the way to the other side
I guess I'm gonna have to drown
In a pool of harmful tears
Just so i can catch a glimpse
B4 I say goodbye...

and somthg lyk that...u can copy..idk

you cant really force a song you just have to write everything until it feels right . it will come randomly so be ready

First of all, I would assume from your question that you are still in school. If I am right about that, please do yourself a huge favor and pay close attention to your English teacher. The reading you will do can spur wonderful ideas for lyrics. The poetry that you read and write will help, as will the spelling and grammar.
By the way you WRITE a song, not right one. I am a professional musician and firmly believe that language arts is a key to success in the music writing business.
