What kind of Music did your parents listen too when you were a kid?!

Question: My dad was a Max Webster/ RUSH/ Tom Petty/ Van Halen/ Queen/ Neil Young fan.

My mom listened to Led Zeppelin, alot of Aerosmith and some of the hair bands.

I was raised well. (However I like to attribute my love for AC/DC to my own good taste =D)

I grew up to the Beatles, Barry Manilow, Jimmy Buffet, all the good stuff my parents made me listen to.

jackson 5, paul anka, carol king

Country

Big band, country, Elvis.

Country- George Jones,Conway Twitty,Dolly Parton,etc

oasis, nivana sterophonics cos i am sortof a kid 14 =]

Rock...I had some cool parents!! I grew up with the Beatles, Hendrix, Mamas & Papas, Grand Funk Railroad, Johnny Cash, Herman's Hermits., and Frank Zappa!
(is it any wonder I just continued with groups like Led Zep, Pink Floyd, etc...)

my father was a lover of country music, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline were played in our house alot as I was growing up, My mom loved Frank Sinatra and Opera, it wasnt unusual to have country music playing in the basement and Opera thru out the upstairs of our home...I love music, all kinds, we had to learn to play an instrument when we were kids, I also made it a rule for my children, they all love music. My mother is 95 and lives with us, one of her most treasured posessions is her Bose music system, there is always music playing in her room, 24 hours a day...my children have learned alot from her about music

Mom:Fancy and some similar nonsense (I should respect her taste in music but...)
Dad:AC DC, Black sabbath, def leppard ^^

i grew up on country and classic rock stuff like that my parents are complete opposites

I listened to alot of music growing up from my parents,my parents split up when i was young. so when i was in my mum's household we listened to a range of music including african, Makossa, raggae, r&b, soul and old skool,

Within my dad's household there was alot of raggae, dancehall, soca, salsa, cuban rumba,Merengue and many more
this comes from my dad's side of jamaican and cuban heritage.
and my mums side is of african
so it comes good with a mixture of both sides cultural music

LOL nothing I ever liked , but back in their day I guess it was their kind of rock ((Smiles))
