Hey super My Chemical Romance fans...?!

Question: Do you think they sold out? I am listening to the Bullets CD right now and it is so much hardcore compared to the Black Parade. MCR is my favorite band and i really hope their next CD goes back to their old ways. :( What do you guys think? (Please don't answer if you haven't heard Bullets!)

Lord, no.
I think that they've evolved, as all musicians should.
After all, if all of their albums were completely identical in sound, what would be the purpose of buying each one? It would become tedious and ordinary.
Personally, I think the term "sell out" is thrown around far to often these days. It seems to have lost its meaning.

And Jon B, I must say, if my teacher acted in such an unprofessional, elitist manner, I'd ask for a schedule change. It appalls me that you'd deride students based on their musical preferences. Do you have some type of inferiority complex that makes you behave that way? I mean, I can understand this type of elitist behavior coming from one of your students, for many students in grades 6th to 12th are quite insecure and feel they must belittle others, using whatever tactics they can to do so, to make themselves feel better. However, I'd hope that most people would mature and outgrow such elitism. I guess that's too much to ask for.
What a pity. =/

I love both there new and there old stuff. It is really different, bullets has more anger and the black parade has more emotion.i think what ever they do it will be awsome

who cares? theyre women!

I am a teacher and I actually join in with my students and make fun of the kids that listen to that garbage every morning before school starts.

No.
They've evolved.
Bands tend to do that, y'know.
I mean, just look at the difference in Gerard since Bullets. He was a drug-addicted alcoholic. I'm not surprised the sound has changed. I personally hope they keep changing and improving.

Im a SUPERR FAN of MCR and honestly i think that the black parade sucks :( three cheers for sweet revenge is way much better.. i miss their old work *tears*

omg i noe bullets...was wayyyy better like im a fan of all their music but bullets... is their best... i hope its like it but i doubt it cuz they wrote tht cd wen they wernt sober and i think tht mite have affected them but i dunno...hope i helped!

Of course theyve changed but u have to thinkabout what theyre doing with their albums. Theyre telling a story and just got to the point where the main character is dying and going into the afterlife. Of course the first album was more hardcore but that was the part where the main character and his chick were on the run. Plus the band has conquered their personal demons.

Mcr... hardcore...

Hmmm.

Well said Jon B!!!
LOL Jester..... seriously you are freakin funny!

i think so.. i mean. compare demolition lovers to teenagers. :/

I think you sold out by listening to them

Wait.. are you really using the words My Chemical Romance and hardcore in the same sentence...

"hardcore"

and Greg Ginn hasn't shown up to chase you with a cricket bat yet? wow.

well i like 3 cheers for sweet revenge the best :] but bullets is good too..and yes it is much more hardcore than the black parade. I do like the the black parade but as you said it's so much different but they are my favorite band so i love them and ALL the music they make :]

Bullets is more hardcore but that's their earlier music.
Parade is more...new. They haven't sold out! Of course not. But Parade is a concept album. So maybe it's different.

I love Bullets, Revenge, Scence and Parade all the same. =)

Whoever loves MCR and has myspace add me!!!

I like both the new and the old. Like someone said, I think the old albums are more hardcore and have more angry songs, eg I'm Not Okay, but some of the songs on The Black Parade are really beautiful and full of emotion, like Cancer and Heaven Help Us. I also think the band has matured a little - Gerard's voice anyway - and also in their outlook on life, and they're drifting a little away from the angry side of things.

And I really love Welcome To The Black Parade - I know it's the trademark tune that everybody knows, but when I saw the clip on Video Hits I just sat there staring at the TV, completely mesmerised. I just love the concept of the Black Parade - I think the idea for that came from somewhere deep inside, it wasn't just made to satisfy the corporate world.

No way! If anyone accused MC5 of selling out, Rob Tyner would climb out of his grave and punch them in the throat.
Not only have I heard Bullets, I've caught them in my teeth! Kick out the jams!
