Question about learning guitar...?!
Question: I just started teaching myself how to play the guitar, using a guitar booklet that my brother uses in his class. I'm on G string notes right now (not very far...) and I don't understand something. Why are there notes written above the musical scale? What I'm trying to say is, what does it mean when, say, there is a letter G above the scale, when the note beneath it on the scale is, say, C? Beneath the song title it says Teacher Acc., so the book doesn't teach it. i'm just wondering if it means to play a chord or what?

yes thats the key for that bar/section and you can play or get someone to pley thos notes as chords at the appropriate times. happy to help.
