What's so bad about Nickelback?!
Question: everyone seems to HATE them. dont get me wrong, i used to think that they were THE most annoying band out there. but i actually listened to them a few times and now i dont think they're that bad. and its not like they're music is really that soft anyway. i was listening to one of their cds, and the beginning of that side of a bullet song sounded like the beginning of a metallica song. they arent that soft.

They sound so borderline country it's disturbing. Throw in one steel guitar and you're there.
"Side of a Bullet" isn't really them....that's Dimebag Darrell from Pantera you're hearing on guitar. And it was Dimebag's gf and his brother(Vinnie Paul) that gave them the guitar solo as well as permission to use it. I don't even like this band, but that's one thing they didn't steal.
I just think their music is 'blah'....nothing special about it and dude can't sing all that well. The music is just mind numbing repeats of the same crap.
But who cares what other people think. If you like them, enjoy it!
The singer's voice makes me want to kill babies. Outside of that I'm really not sure why I hate them, I just do. Kind of like apple jacks, only the opposite.
They're OK. A lot of their songs sound the same to me.
I don't think there's anything wrong with Nickelback at all. In fact, I'm a huge fan!
yeah they have good songs... maybe some people just don't like them because they're from Canada or for whatever reason =)
I like Nickelback, maybe because I haven't heard a lot of bad stuff about them. They're not too famous in these parts so I didn't really know anything about that Pantera thing.
But still, i'm neutral with them. Not bad, not good.

well the worst thing about nickleback is they never evolved with thier sound at all...they found a lil niche and stuck to it...you can't expect to make a career out of the same riff in every song...thier first album was good but they just never found any more...and i'm canadian and love to support canadian groups but with them it's kinda hard...theres lotsa good bands that stuck to the same style...ac/dc...tom petty..to name a few but they changed it up at least...every nickleback song has the same sound
Well, I don't know about everyone else but I've always hated "rock" bands that have a lead singer with a country-ish voice. And come to think of it, the lead singer looks like my neighbor that's always drunk and singing songs at 4 a.m. Blegh.

its got an element of truth though, the lead vocalist was publicly announced the ugliest guy in the world. which is really unfair, he's not that bad and music shouldn't be about imagery. But i think that influenced a lot of people, some just don't like his unique voice or the kind of melody they introduced to the type of rock genre their in.

People just hate to see others succeed when their favorite bands aren't selling millions of albums with each release.
As far as the Dimebag thing goes, everyone from Led Zeppelin to The Beastie Boys have ripped off other artists.

they're one of the greatest rock bands that are still around.
they filled ACDC's, Metallica, and The Rolling Stones shoes.
they brought rock music back from hiding.
as i remember they were the only rock band on the charts when rap was the thing.

aidon b you can do that with any band you can play 15 Beatles tracks at the same time and have it do that the only reason they line up is they are same tempo same key and same time signature! 60% percent of all music is played at that general tempo it is just a good tempo for a song please dont get on the same key because all the bands that everyone here says are so great "especially those great heavy bands " play almost exclusively in d or c# or c or whatever they drop their tuning too so lets rule that out shall we and almost all music is in 4/4 time so you have very little left to stand on it was created by someone who knows that most people dont know anything about music so they will just keep bringing it up because they are ignorant about how music is made and they hate nickelback too that is retarded you too are just preying on peoples ignorance that being said im not their biggest fan but they get so much **** for writing good songs just wanted to set the record straight
