Answers: This BLACK musician (because I am convinced that Country is an amalgam of Folk and African musics) was a huge influence on the father of Bluegrass.

lol Jimmie Rodgers?
I dunno man... he influenced so many "black" folk.. Luther "Houserocker" johnson being one of them...

or Arnold Schultz whom taught Bill Monroe.

Hell... I dunno!
Good Question thought!

Bill Monroe has been called the ' Father of Bluegrass '...
Kentucky is called the "Bluegrass State " Bill Monroe
was born and raised in Kentucky...however his music
was not derived from anything in Kentucky other than
the man himself.....and I am pretty sure you're convinced
in the right direction.
