Is "REAL" Hip Hop dead or did it just go back to its underground roots!

Question: I miss the days when you could hear conscious and thought provoking Hip Hop music on the radio. Now the music that "they" categorize as Hip Hop is taking over. WTF happened?

Hip Hop is dead right now. The days of Method Man (You're all I need), The Lost Boys (Renee), Ghostface Killa (All that I got is you) are over. But there is still good music out there, but it will never be the same again. Hip Hop changes just like everything else. Beepers to cell phones, books to internet, vcrs to dvd players just to name a few

collipark let "rappers" blow him for a contract.......i.e. soulja boy

your late

I really don't know what happened, but it's pretty sad. Still, there are still those out there, but Soulja boy and what not is taking over.

you know, not all. but the hip hop now a days is all stupid and talking about the newest saying or dance moves. barely anything about the actual struggles, right now the only hip hop artist i like is probably lupe fiasco, kanye west and jay-z.

it did go back to it's undergound roots.........sad though isn't it people who listen to the radio and hear a hip-hop song now think that it is awful music and i can't say i blame them......... i love hip-hop that has meaning but it will probably never get any radio play

i really dont know, i was a baby when the "Real" hip hop that many are talking about was out. i grew up on the now R&B and hip hop

Hip-Hop went underground, ya gotta dig

its gonna die if you keep askin questions like this.

there is NO SUCH THING as REAL hip hop.
