I need hellp about singing?!

i know that im not that good singer but singing is my dream and to be on the stage . i love the musik like : Simple Plan, Mcfly, Panic t the disco , Busted , Son of dork .. i mean my friends tell me that i sing good .. but sometimes when i try to sing karaoke it just dont sound good and it just dont sound like i was thinking it will sound .. my dream is to be on a band and to go to diferent cities and play .So can you help me and tell me what to do cuzi just wish that my dreAM will come true..

okay well i'm in choir and sometimes when your voice doesn't come out right you need to check your posture. make sure that you're standing up as straight as you can with your shoulders back but relaxed... make sure that you're vowels are well rounded... people think that rounded vowels are only for opera but it works for all singing i swear... and also make sure that you support with your diaphram... when you get really nervous you forget to do that even if you do it when you rehearse. Make sure that when you breathe out, your stomach goes out and when you breathe in, your stomach goes in... sounds so stupid i know, but you have to learn it lying down as gay as that sounds... it works i promise...

Im in choir [junior high]
and my teacher says that sitting up straight will help.
and "locking" kinda like outting the end of your toungue on the roof of your mouth and letting go and expanding your rib cage.
That makes your voice more mature.
--Try to join your school choir.
You dont need professional lessons to be a great singer.
Just belive that this is your passion and your willint o do anything.
Use a software tool like Canta, http://www.singintune.org , it will show you how to sing better. It is like a home teacher, but you can use your favourite songs to work with, so it is more fun than a real teacher ;-)
