It's tough to say... this decade hasn't actually been that good, and there have been a few amazing records among piles of crap each year.

I don't know, but the people above me haven't read your question properly...
def the newer metal music metal has changed so much and has gotten more faster and more technical but most of all sounds way better like dragon force - through the fire and the flames also a few alternative bands like Breaking Benjamin are only growing and sounding better
2004 because it has brittneys albumn "danger Zone" and Justin Timberlakes albumn "Justified" and Gwen Stefani went solo and released her albumn "Love, Angle, Music, Baby" and there was also Beyonc'e and her albumn "Dangerously In Love" and i think eminem did his 8 mile albumn that year too oh and also MCR just did their second albumn that year "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge"
