Do you consider Bon Jovi and Def Leppard metal bands or just pop/rock bands?!
Question: for me i look at Def Leppard as glam rock, they had a few hits that really got on my nevers lol... thought it was just not true hard rock, if you look them vh1 has them ranked 31st of greastest artists of hard rock, but thats not what i think,,, sorry dl fans....
Bon jovi..i would put them with hard rock in the beginning but they have kinda turned to the pop side now,, i use to listen to them back in the day,, but can say that i would now.. sorry

Bon Jovi is pop rock. Def Leppard is a little more metal.
Bit of both really..they have both done fairly bland rock stuff but also some really good metal.
Def Leppard's first 3 albums were sort of metal, they went pop with Hysteria. I don't consider Bon Jovi metal.

Honestly...does it matter?? They both rock...specially in the early days!!!! Labels and Genres can be too deceiving, and actually hurt bands......but thats just my opinion

Bon Jovi? Please. Def Leppard? Now there's one to consider. They have the power, the drive. They certainly aren't metal anymore, but they can still wail. However, when you consider they're upcoming collaboration with Tim McGraw (?), one wonders if they're days are numbered. Or perhaps senility has set in.
Both bands earlier stuff, in the 80's, was considered to be heavy metal, with all their albums being in the metal sections of record stores. These days, compared to other bands of today, the become pop/rock artists.
Neither are metal, that's for sure.
Both regular rock bands w/ pop leanings. (though DL is edgier than Bon Jovi)
