Pearl Jam or Counting Crows. Which is the better band?!

Yep, Pearl Jam... Because.... Eddie Vedder's vocal range is just awesome, and he is one of the rare singers where you can actually hear the emotions... they are awesome in concert, and really connect to the crowd (although i can't really compare - I havn't seen CC live), they have a sort-of 'depth' to their songs - and nearly everyone could relate to what at least one of their songs is saying. Plus, they're not afraid to sing about real-life, and often painful stuff. In saying that, I do like Counting Crows, although my favourite song that they did is a cover, so that says something.

PJ! Never liked CC, mainly because of Adam's voice. But still, I think PJ are the stronger band overall.
Pearl Jam. I'm not that big into them (at all) but Counting Crows were more pop than Pearl Jam was... Pearl Jam became pretty pop, but that being said, they didn't start that way... Counting Crows just sort of rode the late-grunge/early "alt rock" scene's wave.

Pearl Jam, I just feel more emotion with their songs Jeremy is the clear example of this, that also took some balls to put out there because people weren't talking about suicide, it was too taboo. The song helped change that. And Better Man is another call to action brain stirrer. I don't dislike Counting Crows. I just don't feel as connected to the songs.

with me being biased with my religion, id go for pearl jam...they have christian/ worship songs..
Counting Crows, for their virtuosity, the intimate delicacy of their songs. Pearl Jam were bellowing fools in comparison.
