Are there any metal bands with punk influences such a DRI and Suicidal Tendencie!

Question: Yeah, you're looking for thrash. M.O.D.(without a doubt), S.O.D., Anthrax, Dead Horse, Sacred Reich. That's all
I can think of at the moment.

Protest the Hero.
There a metalcore/Prog/Mathcore (basically means as complex as classical music or close to it) group that wrote (probably my favorite album) Kezia, which was a situation requiem that told a epic story. The main plot was that god has died but a new messiah (a woman named Kezia) has come forth but is being sentenced to death due to the church's unwillingness to accept a woman as the new savior. The album tells the story though the viewpoint of the church preacher, the prison guard who must execute Kezia, and Kezia herself in song sets of 3, and ending with one final track. You'll have a tough time listening to the lyrics though (even though they are extremely deep) at first since each member of the band is extremely talented. You can still pick up on a little of the punk influence but they're mainly metal now(don't confuse them as a christian band though, its just a topic they got into in this album)

here's two of there video's
