Marquee Moon by Television - The most CRIMINALLY under-heard album of all time??!
Question: This album is a *MASTERPIECE* - all 10 tracks are amazingly crafted with guitars that are out of this world - always on the top albums lists in music literature, why then does no-one ever talk about them? I know no-one who holds them in the high regard they deserve - EXCEPT people I have made listen to the album!
Why do you think they are not spoken of more often? Is it their relatively low studio output (2 proper albums) - not much different in quantity to The Stone Roses!!!!

Agree the album is a masterpiece and Verlaine / Lloyd are superb guitarists and songwriters but there is lots of criminally ignored music out there

I know what you mean. I had actually never even heard of it until about 3 years or so ago when my mom was watching a special about records that influenced artists (some sort of a VH-1 countdown thing-y) and based upon the record making the list and the people who were talking about it she randomly bought it for me along with Let It Be by the Replacements. Both records were fantastic, but I was really taken with Marquee Moon. You're totally right. It's a really wonderful record that not nearly enough people know about.
I tell you what, next time I am on YouTube I will check out some of their stuff.
