Question: I enjoy Yahoo answers vey much and I LOVE music like I know very very much about classic rock artists and there predecessors I love Rock music and I cant dicuss it with fellor fans becasue Yahoo decides to split up hip hop and r&b and Funk and Disco which are very related.They do this to two sets of genres that are very related and most fans of each one are fans of the other as in Funk+Disco, and r&b+hip hop.I am sorry if you have heard me complain before, but really why in the hell dont they split up the rock section.Its a term used for over 50 years of music ,and im a fan of the first 30 years and yes i do like some of the rest but I have no desire to discuss this other stuff. Cant they just have a Classic Rock section? I mean really I dont go on Y/A that much anymore becasue of this. i want to hear about The Yardbirds and The Doors not this Metal stuff and stuff from other genres. splitting it up into 2 subcategores would benefit both sides. THere would still be the main categori

Well the types of rock are way to similar. People will define bands like Led Zeppelin as rock, heavy metal, blues and so on. Many bands changes their genres as they evolve and mature as musicians. And as they change in general. Aerosmith has rock and rap-like music . Although music self-proclaimed "expert" like you know this though. There would be more arguing over genres than anything else here.
