Now I am talking musiacl composition. Who has more talent. Mozart of Eminem?!

Question: Haha! Good one. Mozart.

Answers: Haha! Good one. Mozart.

If Mozart was alive today, his music would be 100% electronic & his talent would leave everyone in the dust.

Mozart, no question

You are seriously asking to compare the single greatest natural talent in the history of music and a guy who has no talent at all.

You're joking right?

Edit: What makes you think that Eminem is a "master improviser?" Nonsense, most of the stuff rappers "improvise" is thought out well in advance. What they produce is nothing more than noise pollution. If Eminem has a talent then it is self promotion.

There is no way of telling between those two, it's like comparing a loaf of bred with a double decker bus! They were alive in completely different eras. Just going by raw musical talent and variety of composition, I'd have to say Mozart.

Mozart Definitely. Do you NEED an explanation?

This is a ridiculous question. As previous posters have said, you are trying to compare two people who are completely dissimilar. It would be like trying to compare Shakespeare to someone who spray-paints 'poetry' onto ghetto walls.

I'm not convinced Mozart would be writing entirely electronically if he were alive today (why would he?) but as a musical composer and performer Eminem would not be able to compare for one millisecond against one of the greatest musicians this planet has even seen.

Why not try to think up a question that actually has some value?

Mozart. Rap/hiphop has never ever been genuine music!!!

Alright, since most of the other answers are disregarding Eminem as "talentless" simply because of his genre, I'm going to take a little more open-minded approach.

Mozart was a composer with an extremely prolific output for all types of ensembles - chamber music, symphonies, operas, soloists, and so on. He wasn't particularly innovative - perhaps his greatest change was writing operas in German (his vernacular) rather than Italian, thereby making them more accessible to his own countrymen. He wrote a whole crap-load of great music, but most of it was fairly conservative.

Eminem is not really much of a musician - he's a rapper. His real talent is with words. Bach could improvise a well-constructed fugue from any subject; Mozart could improvise a set of variations on any theme; Eminem can improvise a rap song over the top of whatever beat you give him. Unscripted freestyle rap is a LOT harder than people would like to give him credit for, and he does it pretty well.

Both Mozart and Eminem have a well-developed skill. In Mozart's case, he knew the construction of Classical forms inside and out. In Eminem's case, he knows rap - he has a good vocabulary, and he can think very, very quickly. Personally, I'd rather listen to Mozart than Eminem, but there's no denying that Eminem is good at what he does.

Is that a serious question??

Eminem has no sense of musical theory or technique. He's a rapper and relies on lyrics, and, thus, it's very hard to even begin to compare the two.

If there is one thing in common between the two, it is improvisation. Mozart was a master improviser back in his day. Many of the pieces you hear now composed by him were improvised at concerts. He had the knack to put together an entire Sonata and remember it the next day to write it down on manuscript.... often scoring the piece while sitting in a horse and carriage heading to the next town for his tours. Mozart could take a theme and weave intricate variations and counterpoint at the piano. It was an amazing gift.

If we look at Eminem, he also has the gift to improvise on the spot in rap battles. His ability to rhyme and articulate long passages is liken to Mozarts ability to improvise scale passages with modulations and sequences. Both of these men could do their form of improvisation cold. No need to warm up - just go straight ahead and make musical sense. Eminem's ability to link lines together is like Mozart improvising a 4 bar question phrase and then a symmetrical answer.

The ability to spit lyrics is very difficult. It is not easy. Anyone can try and you will see how hard it is to make things rhyme but more importantly be in line with the rhythm of the background beat. This is something that is not easy and you must have gift for this. Just like Mozart's keyboard improvisation, spitting lyrics is a skill and a talent.

People will always say Mozart is more talented. The evidence will show this, but both are master improvisers and I think that is something that is often over looked. People will be comparing styles of music and saying rap has no validity. Well, sorry, rap is a true form of music. It is a way to express one's self. That is what music is - a method of communication, a method of sharing one's thoughts. You cannot discredit Eminem because he is a rapper. Many of the great rap producers are composers in their own sense. They have to master beats and rhythms... nothing unlike Mozart. Maybe the music is far less complex but I wouldn't discredit it. I listen to both and Eminem and Mozart are two of my favorites.

I will always stand up for Mozart - over the past 3 years I have performed over 100 concerts of just Mozart's music for his 250th bday. However when i'm on the plane to these venues, Eminem is on my iPod....

Mozart is the better musician but I would rather have Eminem on my side in a street fight.

I'm going to be a smart-aleck and say Eminem. Now before all you classical buffs start dropping jaws, notice what the question says.."Who HAS more talent?" Present tense...and Eminem is the only alive one of the two.

Who HAD much more talent than Eminem, and who used his music to greater effect? Mozart, of course.

If their was no Mozart, their would be no Eminem
