Question: i was thinking krank amps

Answers: i was thinking krank amps

Krank is one option, sure. You will probably want to aim for a high-gain tube amp, whatever you do. I've heard Krank, and they're okay, I guess. I've heard better, though.

Kustom makes great amps, but by great I mean they're great for pop, rock, blues, and even heavy rock - I don't know about thrashy stuff.

Randall is another option. They've got this modular preamp thing where you can swap out the preamp section of the amp (tubes and all) and completely change the character of it... Linkin Park and Metallica are using them now, so they can't be too bad, mmm?

Mesa Boogie is of course another option. I'm not necessarily a fan of the Dual Rectifier, but I own the Trem-o-Verb and it's got a pretty wide range of sounds from jazzy clean to grungey blues to all out heavy metal.

Marshall tube amps are of course classic. I'm not a fan of the Triple Super Lead, but I have heard this guy from a band called Pink Lincoln use one and get a great tone from it.... most everyone else I know just hates them (the amps that is).

Diezel amps are a step up, both in quality and price. Their Uberschall amps are amazing to hear.

The hands-down best guitar sound I've ever heard was from Helmet at Warped Tour a few years ago. They use Pitbull heads and VHT power amps, plus a few different pedals. Ooooh, that sound was so sick!

Marshall Mg series amps have an amazing metal sound. There are actually what I use. I run my guitars straight to the amp itself. Pedals aren't needed for this amp. The sound is fantastic. You can run down to a Guitar Center and check things out also.
KEEP ROCKING!!!
