Is hip hop one of the few genres of music that accepts "big" people?!
Question: It's always good to see a fellow heavy man be accepted in the rap industry. It seems everyone is so hung up on appearance, and that being thin is necessary. I look up to guys like Big Pun, Fat Joe, Biggie Smalls, and most recently Eminem. They prove that you don't have to be skinny to make great music and sell records. I don't see any fat rock, or pop stars.

Its a double standard. Men can be big and have know problem selling. If Eve of Lil' Kim picked up a bunch of weight, that would be the end of their careers.

It seems like, the physical expectations of artists is a bit of a double standard, as it is more prone to apply to women... but yes, Hip-hop as an industry, I think, has a lot of obstacles to face and weight is on the bottom of the list. Although, SEX ALWAYS SELL, and the artists you mentioned, they were respected for their talent, more or less, not their size.
You will notice a trend tho, of artists trying to get more fit, Nelly recently got BUFFED UP , ithink its important to be conscience of your health...

Yes they do accept big people, hip hop isn't controlled by people magazine. Physical importance isn't that important.
Rock stars... maybee these trendy bullshit bands, but there have been many heavy rock stars
