Answers: ive been thinking. i always want to sing. why not get better with it?!

1. Choose a good singer to sing along with. One who is adventurous with their vocal range.
2. The best thing to drink before singing is water.
3. Always stand up to sing, it allows more air into the lungs.
4. Before playing and recording your effort along with the song, loosen your vocal chords by singing the do re mi fa sol la ti do scale.
5. Sing a song you already know well and project your voice.
6. To project, imagine you are singing to people at the back of a hall. You want them to hear you.
7. To make the voice louder without screaming whilst singing, push down with your tummy muscles and the voice will be stronger. This will take practice, but is worth the effort.
8. Strength is needed (using the tummy muscles) in the last words of sentences, as they must be cut off and not phased out weakly with the lack of breath.
9. It is always possible to use tummy muscles to exhale that last bit of air needed to finish the sentence.
10. Notes can be reached with confidence if correct breathing is used for projection. There is much less chance of wandering out of key if done this way.
11. Vibrato can be achieved with projection, and then breathing the sound at the end of the word, rather than holding the note.
12. With practice, you can pop the breathing in and out ever so quickly to make a great sounding vibrato. Notes will then sound more musical and take on a professional sound.
13. After practicing and feeling more fluid with the voice, play the song required, and turn on the recording machine.
14. Sing along to the end, and then listen to the playback.
15. If the vocals or the singer on the music is too loud and drowning the other out, adjust for a better all round mix. (Turn down the mic volume, or the volume on the song).
16. Sing along again, then listen. If the mix is fine with your vocals just above the singer on the music, go for a 'take.'
17. Listen to the playback carefully and write down all the words that sound wrong.
18. Play the song without recording your vocals this time, and concentrate on those wrong sounding words. Listen carefully to the singer and after repeating the song until you feel you have it properly in your head, record yourself again.
19. Playback and check for your progress. You can repeat this until you have got it right.
20. Do not practice the whole song whilst making mistakes on words thinking you can learn them later, or you will have a barrier on those words and will find it much harder to alter the way you sing them.
21. Learn to wiggle in a word to make it sound more interesting, but stay within the key. It is similar to singing harmonies when other notes can be sung in conjunction with the main note. Experiment!
22. The use of a recorder to check if you are singing in key, is the best way to learn how to stay in pitch and will show up any mistakes before you are stuck with them.
23. If you are not tone deaf, you will progress very quickly with this method.
24. Correct breathing and confidence makes a good singer.
25. Technique and fluidity in going up or down a scale to the highest and lowest edge of the vocals, makes an excellent singer.
26. Practice daily and there is no reason not to sound like some of the best!

Tips

* Always loosen up your vocals with vocal exercises.
* To gain confidence sing a song you already know.
* Make sure to do breathing exercises each day and before singing.
* Inhale, pulling the tummy muscles in, the chest should expand, (your shoulders should NOT move up).
* Exhale, pushing the tummy muscles out, the chest should go inward.
* This may not be the way you breathe now, but it is the correct way to breathe and practice can make it subconscious.
* Before going to sleep each night practice this way of breathing.
* Any time you think of it, practice breathing correctly.
* To aid with the practice of this breathing technique, (which is also used for meditations) place hands on the tummy to feel the correct movements. A belt can also be worn to push against.

Warnings

* When singing heavy vowels at the end of a sentence like: A as in sad, sing it more like sard. The long drawn out A sound does not make a nice sound. This applies to the EE sound also. Make this sound more like A as in say. Breathe the note out and it will sound better.
* Do not sing too much at the start. Vocal chords are like muscles and need to be built up for strength and agility.
* Do not scream instead of breathing properly. That is not projection or singing.
* Do not drink milk before singing as that causes mucous to form.
* When singing for long periods of time, it is worth taking a swig of honey cough medicine, or sucking on a cough sweet.
* Remember not to sing with a sweet in your mouth, or you might choke. And anyway, you will not be able to form the words correctly.

Things You'll Need

* Buy a tape recorder with a built in mic, or find one that a microphone can be plugged into. (A karaoke machine works also.)
* You can also use the record function of your mp3 player if the quality is good.
* A portable CD player is needed to play the singer of your choice or the songs you wish to learn.
* Lyric sheet of the song you will be playing.
* Music stand for the lyric sheet.
* Cough medicine or lozenge.

eat jaggery and honey daily during moring with lemon juice..avoid cool drinks....and oil stuffed food

Sing ---- A LOT =)

practice makes perfect

uhh i guess get a singing coach.

I would suggest having lessons, they teach you how to breath a certain way while you are singing and can also help you with your technique and ensure you are singing correctly not damaging your vocal cords. Would be great to find out what kind of vocal range you have and have someone who you can learn from and who can help you reach your true potential. Also things like smoking obviously are not good for your voice. And practice a lot.

eat avocado and dont drink stuff thats to cold or to hot

The best thing is to get lessons with a good teacher and
you have to practice a lot...

At home you can be aided by a software like Canta, http://www.singintune.org , which can help you to develop your skill to sing in tune. You can try the free demo version.
