And Missy Elliot is not a hard azz rapper and neither is timbaland.Every time I try to give yall some tru street answers yall pick the the lil white grl that says lauren hill and missy are the hardest thing to eva hit the street.

tell em girl! everytime i ask a question about the south, people say listen to common and nas, or rakim. Now i have love for east coast and west coast rappers, but some of the best rappers are coming from the south. I think people don't like them because they can't adjust to the southern accents, which make a nice touch to their music. Like many people think hurricane chris is a ringtone rapper, and they've probably never even heard any other songs from him besides a bay bay, playas rock, and hand clap. People really need to go cop his album 51/50 ratchet city, cause that's a street classic! His songs be hittin hard, and he comes hard on a freestyle! I wish people would stop hating on southern rappers before they even hear they're music. And they be hatin on mike jones, three six mafia, and outkast. Thanks for this Q girl!

Yeah, I've never seen anyone 'hate' on the south. And that was really hard to understand. Maybe because this 'question' is probably going to be considered chatting.
Maybe its not the south that people dont like.
Maybe they just can read your answers because you write in crappy english and it is hard to read.
I live in the south (and have for a large portion of my life)...it can be tough to find many redeeming qualities outside of mild winters and some pretty countryside.
i personally don't discrimate against any genre but i think that the people who do are "hatin" for one of a few reasons.
they don't understand the lingo, can't keep up with the pace of the song and analyzing the lyrics, or just really don't like rap and they don't really know the difference between rap and hiphop and pop. its just a little ignorance on their behalf, just try not to let them get you down cause then they win.
i personally will listen to a song and if they say something stupid or make some ridiculous noise that can become annoying i may not listen to it again, but i love TI and lil wayne, yes i think hes a great rapper, along with many others

FYI Lauryn Hill is the truth... So, if someone asks who the best female rapper is and they say Lauryn... Hell, she's one of them IMO. And who the hell says Missy is the best rapper? SMH... Ridiculous. People "hate" on the South because they're just tired of all the clubby, snap, dance, gimmicky music that's coming out now. Simple as that...

Few will own up to it, perhaps they do it subconsciously.
But I can definitely see where one would get the impression that you have.
But look at it this way; maybe they are not really hating, they just aren't able to relate to the artists, culture, and concepts attached to southern hip hop as someone with your experiences would.

I don't hate the south some of my favorite rappers come from the south like scarface,ludacris,cunninglynguists,celph titled,haystak,8ball & mjg,ugk,outkast,goodie mob,jim crow,etc. it's the dudes with no talent that all come from the south who have these brutal radio hits.they have no substance in their lyrics if there is any lyrics.no flow and a catchy beat that anyone of us would have hit talking on it.

i never saw any1 "hatin" on the south.... ppl like what they like.... im from new york personaly i dont like the style and most of the music from the south b cuz it talks pretty much bout the same things and i only good in the club..... i do like luda, outkast, scarface, goodie mobb jus to name a few.... but 2 me most of the artists from the south r flashy and have the "money, hoez and clothes syndrom" and i prefer lyrical content wit a message over flashy cars and how much money and women u have.....
dont get me wrong we got that in ny 2 but not as much as down south..... so alota of ppl prob do not care for the style of music that comes from the south and they have the right to their opinions jus as u have yours.....
