the rap on the radio today sucks but back in the 90s rappers rapped about conscious ideas and beliefs. It was a way to express their feelings and music is something you can listen to and understand. Music is not all about beats. Rap is music because good/great rappers can put together words with a simple beat and make an image in your head. They tell stories for you to vibe with. Rap is more than music. It's like an addiction once you listen to it. Listen to Common, Tupac, Nas, Rakim, or Wu-Tang Clan if you want to hear real rap...Do not listen to Soulja Boy, Shawty Lo, Vanilla Ice, or the Ying Yang Twins
There's a lot of rap songs that have instrumentals in them. And the ones that don't, don't. They contains beats instead. It's as simple as that. Do you want me to draw you a picture?
