Avenged Sevenfold (A7X)
---Listen to Avenged Sevenfold (self-titled album), its the black & white cover with a winged skull. All tracks are reccomended.
City of Evil album-- Listen to Beast and the Harlot, Bat County, M.I.A & Burn It Down.
Also Waking the Fallen, with a cover like the self-titled album but in grey. Recommended tracks--Unholy Confessions, Chapter Four.
Another Band likeable would be Killswitch Engage.

Slipknot and Korn are nu metal, which shouldn't even be a sub-genre of heavy metal in my opinion. I guess you would like Biohazard, Limp Bizkit, Godsmack, Coal Chamber, System Of A Down, and Disturbed.
That guy above me who says Slipknot and Korn are thrash metal, should listen to Machine Head's Burn My Eyes to understand what thrash metal is. There's no way Slipknot and Korn are thrash metal, they're nu metal.
Death metal... All I can think of right now is Cannibal Corpse. If you want to listen to some good heavy metal bands, you should try Slayer, Machine Head, DevilDriver, Cavalera Conspiracy, Lamb Of God, Chimaira, and Killswitch Engage.
