well - if your going to basic lessons, then you can't really prepare
since the teacher is to be teaching you, I have been having lessons for about 6 months every other week, and the first lesson it was him teaching me, thus being a guitar lesson.

The more you practice, the more your fingertips will hurt or possibly blister before you callous up. Good luck!
Your instructor will let you know what you need to know. You can't prepare too much for a first lesson...it's a first lesson! Relax and enjoy your instrument.

A basic knowledge of all the notes on the fretboard would be good. that's all really though.
Nothing, that's what the lessons are for.
The only thing I would say is make sure your fingertips on your left hand are good and calloused up before you get into serious playing. Maybe you have already done this practicing chords?

i have guitar fingers and have been playing for 3 years
