About 2 in every five rappers are actually gangsta, like given a case with WC, ice cube, lil wayne, rick ross and 50 cent, WC and ice cube are real O.G's, the rest are posers.
any rapper who hasnt been shot or didnt have a bad incident in their life isnt gangsta. so if nothing happened to them in their life except being famous then they arent gangsta. to be gangsta you have to be shot right.

What are you people talkin about?? Lil' Wayne's father f**kin died, is that not something bad? I'm pretty sure he was raised on the streets until Birdman heard him rapping on a street corner or something and took him in.
Lil' Wayne isn't as fake as plenty of others. Just look at Soulja Boy, Bow Wow, Hurricane Chris, T-Pain, Akon (although I guess those last two aren't really trying to rap but they should stay the hell out of rap.)
If you want a gangsta, then just look at any rap from the early to mid 90s. East or West Coast, it doesn't matter. Snoop Dogg was a crip and still reppin'. Eazy E was a drug dealer before he became a rapper. Just look up the old school guys.
Mostly those West Coast rappers - 2Pac Dr Dre Snoop Ice Cube LL Cool J Eazy E etc - are pure gangsta, they grew up in harsh conditions and had to have the "gangsta" mindset to survive. Biggie was gangsta also.
Fakes like Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy or whatever his name is are not.
