How many people were honestly Big L fans before his death?!

Question: I'm just curious. I personally knew very little about him until after his death.

Answers: I'm just curious. I personally knew very little about him until after his death.

I didn't know Big L until AFTER he died... My brother introduced me to him.

And just because he's dead of course you can still appreciate his work... Because plenty of Civil Right's activist are dead, can I not truly appreciate their work?

EDIT: Yes, you can still appreciate his work just as much as you would if he wasn't dead... It's not like we knew him or would have known him personally. So of course you can. Get his CD's, listen to his music, etc... If you're a fan of his, you can appreciate him. The same music people heard while he was alive is the same music people will hear now that he's gone.

???? I still don't like him!!!!!!

none

i knew him before his death. i have several mixtapes that are now considered rare and hard to find. they are actual tapes not cds. i took them to get put on a cd though. i have all albums released and all DITC albums too. Big L was ahead of his time. he was taken from us too soon.
R.I.P. BIG L

I did not know about his music until he died. I have just seen his name in magazines with Showbiz & A.G along with others.

I was listening to him b4 he died
but everyone else started to catch on to him after his death because of what alot of people in New York portrayed him to be

they felt like Big L wouldve been like the 2nd coming or something

I'm a true Big L fan to my heart! I have all of his albums, including his stuff done w/Lord Finesse. His lyrical content was amazing, ie. Ebonics, Flamboyant, The Heist, Dangerzone, MVP, Street Struck, Deadly Combination, etc. He was a storyteller who was ahead of his time. Hip-Hop would have been much different if he were still here.
His music lives on though, and will never be forgotten...ESPECIALLY not here in NY.

Hard to believe he has been gone for 9 years already. RIP to a true lyricist-

I never heard of him before his death.

I wasnt even into hip-hop then....I'm 16, and I use to be into country...made the switch over to rock...then my cousins got me into hip-hop about 2-3 years ago...so yea

I was he could definitely kill a freestyle.
