Question: alot of my friends LOVE MCR and i know absolutly no songs by them. they make them seem like.........gods or something. so just out of plain curiosity i wanted to listen to some of their good songs and see if they are good or not.

they suck bad dont bother listening to them cuz your friends dont know what theyre talkin about. my friend next to me said "headfirst for halos". lol
they are damn good... and brilliant in concert- sincerely the best i have ever been to, and i'm not a massive fan. ok - listen to (and memorise the lyrics to)BLACK PARADE. it's their most famous, and is a pretty good song. my personal favourites are (in no particular order)
HELENA (i think this was their first hit - and if you can sing along to it, it will look like you've been a fan for years!)

anyway to answer your question:
A good song is not determined by anyone but you, you might like one of their songs but hate another. I personally really like "welcome to the black parade", "Famous last words", and "Thank you for the venom". But then they have slower and faster songs so it depends on your taste. You could try looking at some lyrics of some or why not just ask your friends if you could borrow the CD and have a listen?
I hope you found this usefull and perhaps like their music. But don't ever feel pressured into in anyway. I agree with the answer a above, they are a good band, great almost infact, but they are still just a band at the end of the day. Music is as The Cat Empire say, "music is the language of the soul" I hope you find some that really touches yours! :)
