Foreigner ~ Lou Gramm
Rush ~ Geddy Lee

For sheer range, I'd have to go with either Robert Plant or Freddie Mercury.

Ann Wilson by far

what about axl rose

I agree with this guy, Robert Plant and Freddy Mercury. Freddy was a great singer, Robert just had a hard rock type of singing but they played rock songs that weren't metal, though people often mistaked it for metal

yea, freddy mercury is pretty bad @ss when it comes to vocals, robert plant, geddy lee and axl rose are also up there too.

I think Don Henley has the best voice in rock and roll. It's TECHNICALLY good, plus he knows how to use it (which is important -- a great voice is nothing if they don't use it properly).

Gary Brooker, the lead vocalist of Procol Harum, was the absolute PERFECT voice for "A Whiter Shade of Pale."

Boz Scaggs is absolutely brilliant in his soulful delivery.

Ok From your list I'm going to have to go with
Freddy Mercury, and Steve Perry
I think Both Billy Joel, and David Bowie have a pretty good range as well.

Obviously Freddie - nobody beats his voice. Other great rock voices include

Axl Rose of Guns N Roses
Bon Scott of AC/DC
Jon Bon Jovi
Paul Stanley from KISS
Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin
Mick Jagger from The Rolling Stones
Steven Tyler of Aerosmith
Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd
Vince Neil from Motley Crue

and yeah there are lots of others but these vocalists come to mind first.....

micky thomas
ann wilson
freddie mercury
jimi hendrix
dennis deyoung-styx
ronnie james dio
rob halford-judas priest
janis joplin
aretha franklin
bruce dickinson-iron maiden
roger daltrey-the who
axl rose- GnR
phil linot- thin lizzy
tina turner
david coverdale-whitesnake
ian gillan-deep purple
david lee roth
steven tyler
jim morrison
and many more on the tip of my tongue

Steven Tyler

I should say David Bowie.
If you've listened to his whole catalogue of music, his voice is constantly evolving and changing. He started from having an almost thin voice in his folk days in the late 60s to this incredible deep and crooning voice in the late 70s. Nowadays, he sings in all these diff. variations that just sound amazing. He has a really wide vocal range.

Also, Janis Joplin. All I can say is amazing. Now, THAT is a God-given voice.
And also Grace Slick. While I don't like her too much, she has a pretty good voice.
And Nico. Her voice was very deep and emotive, a truly great voice. I dare you to listen to "Femme Fatale" by The Velvet Underground and Nico and not be amazed by it.

Robert Plant

You already have the best of the best there is! Steve Perry!

Mercury sung with a lot of charisma and personality with made him great.
Jim Morrison was a Crooner but he knew how to express his poetic vision with his voice.
