Why does the recorder (instrument) squeak when I play it?!

Question: I'm keeping my fingers as secure in place as possible when I play it. Whenever I play songs they usually sound bitter; but at other times they sound really good... so I know it's not supposed to sound like that. Help! (First day with the recorder.)

The squeaks are usually the result of blowing too hard. The only time you need to blow particularly hard is when you're playing very high notes. This is something that requires some practice, and patience. Try blowing as gently as possible, and then gradually increase. You will find the correct technique easily.

cuz its a plastic piece of junk that i used to "play" in elementary school, made a better sword to be honest.
