Quick question about guitar models?!

Question: Let's say there was a guitar that had the body of a gibson les paul but it had the bridge work and pickups of a fender stratocaster. Would this guitar be a les paul or a strat?

I'd call it a Hybrid. Now that you've integrated the parts, it would practically be copyright infringement to call it one or the other. Call it a Fender/Les Paul Hybrid, or make your own name like Van Halen's famed "Frankenstrat."

Good question. It would depend who actually made the guitar. If it was made ina Gibson factory, it would be a gibson. But if it was just an anonymous guitar and was made like you said, I would go with who made the hardware, buecuse a lot of guitars have a les paul-like body but different pickups etc. SO ITS A FENDER, BASICALLY!

It would be a custom. It would probably sound more like a fender though. I don't suggest trying it.

It would be a hybrid, but if the body was that of an actual Gibson Les Paul and it still had the Gibson headstock, most people would probably perceive it as a Les Paul because the body is the thing that you notice first on any guitar.
