Help reading these guitar chords?!

Question: I know how to play the chords. (C, F, etc.)
But I'm not sure how long I should strum the chord. Take the first line for example...

C F
"Share with me the blankets that your wrapped in"

Do I play C on "share" and then wait till I reach F in "blankets" to play anything else? Or do I just strum C a few times until I reach F?
Help is appreciated cuz I'm way confused. Lol. Thanks!

You'd strum the "C" chord in a beat or rhythm appropriate for the song, until you reach the word "wrapped"; there, you'd switch to "F", and continue the rhythm. (The "F" is over "wrapped" in the link you provided, not "blankets".)

For most kinds of songs, you wouldn't just stop after playing the chord once. There are several different kinds of strum patterns you can use; you can listen to the original song to get an idea, or you can learn strum patterns from a book.

if this is a song your covering then listen to what they do. chances are theres a strum pattern. Are these from chord charts you got on the internet? Your best bet is to play around with 2 chords that are next to each other at a time (like C and F for example), play along with a recording of the song and mimic what they do.

when share is sung, play a C. Then let it ring until it gets to blankets, and play the F. Let that ring until it gets to the next chord.
You may want to strum a few times in between the C and the F, because I can't see any rhythm slashes, but make sure its C from share until blankets.
Hope this helps.

Print off the chords and such, and then listen to the song. Use your ear to find where the chord changes.

what you have to listen out for is the 'Natural' point where the chords change.

C............................... F..........................................
"Share with me the 'blankets' that your wrapped in"
C ......................... ..F.
"Share with me the blankets that your 'wrapped' in"

so you see the F chord could come in at the point of 'blankets' or at the point of 'Wrapped'.?

you have to develop your ear until you hear the changes occuring.

(this site is having trouble displaying what i write so for the second part imagine the F-chord over the word 'Wrapped')
