I've never met a dead lyricist.
They're as alive as stupid questions.
I think there are still some really great lyricists out there in bands-John Mayer, Death Cab for Cutie, Foo Fighters, Jack's Mannequin, Meg & Dia, Silversun Pickups, Tori Amos. But the every day radio is so full of terribly written lyrics and mediocre singers that it's difficult to find the really fantastic lyricists.
