Band or Artist Recommendations?!

Question: I like linkin park, evanescence, skillet, three days grace, etc.
I have a 20$ iTunes card and I already bought about 300 songs. I'm out of ideas of which bands to try.

Please recommend a band and why you like them, why you're recommending it, and who they sound like (doesn't have to be from my list, those are just guidelines).

Oh, and by the way, I'm new to this, so, how do you pick a best answer?
Please answer both questions if you can.

Well, I don't listen to those bands you listed very often, so I'll link to examples so you're not misled out of your money. :D

1. TV On The Radio: Alt-rock band from brooklyn that has an essence of soul. I'm not totally sure if you'd like an entire album of theirs, as their sound is...very diverse. They cover many sounds over their songs.
I think you'd like their songs "Wolf Like Me", "Province" and "Blues From Down Here". I personally like them because I saw them live once and they're all fantastic people and musicians.

2. Muse: Pretty much straight forward rock. It's usually a safe pick for those who enjoy stuff like 3DG or LP. I think they're one of the best arena rock bands around. If you're british, I'm sorry for mentioning these dudes, it's redundant, but most North Americans don't know them.

3. Explosions in the Sky: An instrumental post-rock band. They play really long songs usually, that are full of highs and lows, and dripping with passion and emotion. Excellent stuff, their live shows are pretty intense. Probably my favourite active band over the last 6 years.

4. If all else fails, you could attempt The Smashing Pumpkins' album "Siamese Dream". it's their masterpiece and influenced both Linkin Park and Evanescence.

To pick a best answer, return to the question, and it should give you the option. :D Hope you enjoy!

My Chemical Romance, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Jonas Brothers, Paramore, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Boys Like Girls, Taking Back Sunday, Flyleaf

Our Lady Peace- very original on the albums Naveed, Clumsy, Happiness... Is Not a Fish That You Can Catch, and Spiritual Machines. Amazing vocals, great instrumentals, and great overall sound. I've never heard a band like them.

Nirvana- Without them, there wouldn't be probably half the bands you listen to. Distinctive voice and sound, and give off an indescribable feeling.

Foo Fighters- Vary from soft, great, original music to chill to, to angst-ridden anthems that everyone can love, to anything in between.

Breaking Benjamin- Not sure how to describe them, but Ben Burnley has a great voice and is a good band.

Seether- I'm personally not that big of a fan of their latest album, but some of their older ones have head-banging great songs, to soft, "don't know what you have until it's gone" type songs...

Pearl Jam- Similar to Nirvana, but has more guitaring to them. Very great band. Stone Temple Pilots would be another...

My Chemical Romance
their music is very broad and varied. they are said to be the next big thing. i love their music.

Dashboard Confessional...hands down (which is also one of their songs!) they are the best...Chris Carraba happens to be one of the best songwriters..anyone beg to differ? No:]
Get any of their songs, past or present you won't be dissapointed...beautiful music.
The Used..punk rock/screamo...doesn't get any better than that...Taste of Ink, Caught Fire, Smother Me, All That I've Got..any! They have it all..
Blink 182..needless to say they are the best...lyrics also happen to be unforgettable...fast, slow, hard, soft? Incredible variety, beautiful..just that..
The Beatles...classic, timeless, unforgettable, changed the face of music..all of their songs have meaning..
Go for it, these are all excellent.
:]

Do you like any classic rock, out of curiousity? (I'm 15)

Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses and Def Leppard are both pretty good.

I highly recommend "Runaway Horses" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SheKvJKtp... and "La Luna" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydw5qIycH... by Belinda Carlise.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are pretty good too. I recommend their songs, "I Love Rock N' Roll" "AC/DC" "Bad Reputation"

Pat Benatar is a wonder singer/band. I highly recommend, "Shadows In the Night" "Promises in the Dark" "We Belong" "Heartbreaker" "Love is a Battlefield" "Invincible" "Treat Me Right"

Just Surrender

I like this band because the music is very relate-able and fun. They kind of sound like a mix of Thrice and Simple Plan... but not really lol I can listen to their songs days on end and not get tired of them.
