Is rock music polyphonic?!

Question: So let's say you have a typical rock band and it has two guitarists, a bassist, a keyboardist, and a drummer. Maybe one guitarist would play chords, and the other would play a melody, but it's a different one from the one that they're singing. Then the bassist and keyboardist play sets of notes that correspond with the melody[/ies?]. Does each part count as its own melody?
