Which Marilyn Manson era was better?!

Question: The Golden Age Of Grotesque era, or Eat Me Drink Me before Twiggy came back?

These are probably considered the two most disliked eras of the Manson discography, I personally liked Golden Age Of Grotesque for the album, but performance-wise Eat Me Drink Me was better for the live show.

Well of course I prefer other eras, but since you gave the choices of Golden Age and Eat Me Drink Me, I will obviously go with Golden Age. Eat Me Drink Me was an EXTREMELY disappointing, it sounded like one album length wine fest, put out only as a spit in the face of Manson's ex-wife. The lyrics were boring, I would go as far as to say, almost emo. The stage props were a little more entertaining for Eat Me, Drink Me, but only because it had an "Alice in Wonderland" sort of theme which is something near and dear to lots of us. I'm glad Twiggy came back, it will only improve the songs for the next album. Manson has gotten away from a lot of the collaborators that helped him reach the top, and it isn't going over well with a lot of his older fans, that were there during the Antichrist hey-day. Somewhere along the way Manson lost a lot of his anger, which really made some of his lyrics amazing. I guess they all can't be zingers, right?

i personally liked all the manson eras really but wen twiggy left i cried but now hes back so im happy....i kinda miss john 5 with manson too but john 5 is better off without manson.

When he was on the Wonder Years.

golden age of grotesque & holywood!

He had more than one era (lol)?? The Beautiful People and Sweet Dreams are the only two songs I know.

Marilyn Manson. Wow.
I think The Golden Age of the Grotesque. However, like you said, Eat Me was better for live.

I know it was most popular but I liked early, early stuff. I have to say Mechanical Animals and Antichrist Superstar. I know, I know. But they did have the best songs on, a lot of anger, a lot of "pure industrial". Potrait of...was good too, the way it shocked so many people, I think it was banned by parliament in Britain. I think it was refreshing for people to have someone who wasn't afraid to push boundaries.
Many people would agree that the Reznor produced albums were MM's finest, it depends what you like to listen to though.

I don't know whether he will be able to regain that aggression though, I think that that's the direction that many bands are going - but they suit the fans of music these days. Now most of it is emo. Not that that is bad, its harder to find a metal band that you can fall in love with and its harder for the band to actually find loyal fans I suppose.

OH I NO!!!
NONE OF THEM..

there won't be another anti-christ superstar......and that's all that really matters.
