Slayer or Metallica???!

I Love Slayer and listen to both bands pretty much equally. Pound for pound though, I have to agree with Metallica. Their sound is unique and with songs like One, Enter Sandman, For Whom the Bell Tolls and Nothing Else Matters.... they really do top Slayer (in this instance ;)

Slayer. Although I like both ( Not so much Metallica) Slayer had the heavier sound and remained true from Show No Mercy to Christ Illusion.

I first started listening to Metallica but Slayer got me going in ways that Metallica never did. Still probably a bit more to Slayer. Nah I can't decide. Very hard to compare to great albums like Master of Puppets vs. Reign In Blood but Metallica wins this by a thread.

Awesome Question but tough one! I saw Metallica's Ride The Lightning Tour 2 dates back to back, and Master Of Puppets 3 nights in a row and Cliff Burton was the ****!!! What a loss, I really was upset. I've seen Slayer at least 15 times and they are sick live also so I'll say they are both 2 of my favorite bands, Metallica was my favorite for the first five albums, but almost every Slayer album is a rip and tare feast!!!! So I say BOTH like you said Metallica but i like more Slayer albums and songs!!!! Thanks for a interesting question finally!

they are both respectable bands. they both have huge fan bases and make tons of money . metallica is more medolic/solo/metal and slayer is more thrash/death/metal. They both are awesome bands
