It depends on your tastes. Then again sometimes it sounds best to hear a whole orchestra rather than one violin. You can't really say one instrument is the best, and sometimes it's a mix that is best.
well, i myself have played the recorder, the piano, the viola, the cello, and the violin, and as u might be able to tell they all are within the chamber music circuit. but i really love the violin and the piano, because those to really speak to me and other people musically in a way that may be understandable to others. the light, airy, high tones that can be found on the violin, contrast cutely with the deep resonating tones of the cello and can also be found on the piano. Not too many ppl play the viola, and i dont recommend it, but u can always try it. i myself would love to learn how toplay the guitar, (electric or not) because its a lot different from the genre of music om used to playing. hope this helps.....

piano & a violine.!
I tend to like the very versital ones--the french horn, the bassoon, and the clarinet particularly because they all have a very large playing range, and they are all compatable with many different music styles. The french horn especially can be mellow and soothing, or harsh sounding.
Any musical instrument played the way it ought to be played is best........Sometimes the best instrument + the worst player = ?

The human voice. Nothing compares to its warm tonal quality and no instrument can paint and color music with the depth of emotion...you have to really be adept to make an instrument create music that could approximate the human voice...I have never heard anything that could move me to this extent.
The instrument which u like the most and u can play it very easily that instrument u should choose as the best instrument.
