How are most rock songs constructed?!

Question: Also how do you write a bridge for a song?

Answers: Also how do you write a bridge for a song?

I usually go like this when I write songs..

Solo
Bridge
Verse
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
Bridge
Verse
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
Bridge
Solo
Chorus

The solo at the beginning and the solo after the chorus are usually the same and the fourth one is completley different, longer and harder to do.. For example..

With this song it goes.. Solo/Bridge, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Bridge, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Solo, Chorus, good way to mix it up a bit..

I meant bridge, not solo..

just a chord progression that a good lead will go over on the bridge

number of verses (2 or 3)
a pre-chorus
a chorus
a solo of some kind

(not in order)

Most have an intro, a verse or two, a chorus, another verse or two, solo or chorus, bridge, chorus or solo (whatever you didn't use before), verse, chorus, outro, or something like that. For a bridge, it's just like everything else, except you write BRIDGE in big capitol letters above it.

A bridge is a change in tune, that part of the song that totally varies from the rest of it.

To write a bridge, just come up with an entire different beat, turn it into a solo, and add it to the song. After the bridge bands usually go back to the chorus or verse, than repeat the chorus again.

Kurt Cobain wrote it best in his journal

Verse
Chorus
Verse
Chorus
Solo
Chorus

And bridges are always the hardest for me to write, just play around, and whatever sounds good sounds good.
