I am also a singer/songwriter. I am not 100% sure how to copywrite songs, but I found a website that may help. Good luck!!
Im in a similar position! Also, google www.e-zlyrics.com & create a profile & it publishes/copywrites your lyrics when you upload them. check out my account & tell me your thoughts on my lyrics:
