What is the name of this oldies song (and who sings it)?!

Question: I heard this in a store, here are the lyrics I remember. (NOTE: these are not in order)
"There never seems to be enough time"
"If I had a box just for wishes"
"The box would be empty, (I think, except by the ones you fulfilled...)"
"Looked around your the one I want to go thru time with"

Its a guy singing, song is maybe 2 minutes long, guessing from the 60's, early 70s. The part with the box and wishes I think is the chorus.

That's Jim Croce and the song is "Time in a Bottle". "The box would be empty, except for the memory of you" is the line you were looking for.

He was an early seventies artist, and before his tragic death other hits included, "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" among others. Get an album, you'll love him.

it might be [ time in a bottle - by JIM CROCE]

Time in a bottle

I think the song you are referring to may be by Jim Croce, I am trying to think of another song he may have done but am having trouble with that........I am not sure about the spelling of his last name but I am sure that this is a song written and sung by him maybe called "Time in a Bottle"
the lyrics go something like
If I could put time in a bottle
if words could make wishes come true
i save every day till eternity passes away
then I'd spend them with you...........etc.

Good luck but I am pretty sure I am right about the name of the song and the artist. I just remembered, he did another song called "Bad, bad Leroy Brown" (not one of his best, but anyway) He died, I think in a plane crash while he was still fairly young. Anyway, hope this answers your question.
