How do make a song on iTunes that contains samples of other songs, but all in on!

Question: What I am trying to make is one song with different parts of other songs...like a cheerleading dance song.

It's called a "megamix". You'll need audio editing software. Advanced audio software Adobe Audition or ProTools can cost a good sum of money.

But, there's a free basic editing tool called Audacity that can do much of what the expensive programs can do. It will rip your desired CD tracks to .WAV format, and allow you to select the sections you want to include in your mix. Then, it's a matter of copy and paste.

You can even repeat a section of the same song over and over, for an extended "break". DJs used to do exactly this in the early days of Hip Hop with vinyl, so dancers would have enough time to show off the latest moves. (Yes, this is where "break" dancing got its name.)

The real trick to assembling a megamix is determining when the various sections start and end. It involves listening to your sections repeatedly until you are sure everything falls on the beat, THEN cutting and pasting. Like anything else, Practice Practice Practice.

More advanced remixers can layer songs over each other, playing the beat from one and the raw melody from another for example, and make a smooth transition from song to song. They use the more full-featured software to do this.
