With Van Halen? Diamond Dave of course, much as I love the Red Rocker, Hagar just didn't gel with the Halen.
However, Sammy's solo career and His career with Montrose totally PWNS and Destroys Van Halen.

Diamond Dave all the way, although 5150 was a superb album and Sammy's vocals were amazing, Van Halen is truly only Van Halen with Diamond Dave as the frontman.

I agree with you. Sammy Hagar, for reasons that it's hard to put my finger on, has always gotten on my nerves, and VH never had the same edge with him as the frontman as they did with DLR as far as I'm concerned.
Diamond Dave! DLR was an amazing, fun and charismatic front man. He put on an amazing show. I refuse to listen to any Van Halen that Hagar is associated with.
