Just go online and print out the scales with info on how to play em. It'll be free and the exact same thing as any book. All of those books can only say the same thing so many different ways.

They're the same scales in every book, with the same rules (obviously, these things don't change), and probably with close to the same descriptions, too.

Finding the scales, learning where they are, in every key, and how to apply them, and then simply practicing playing them, can be done just as easily with online print-outs. Save the cash.

I'd think that your local guitar or music store would have them. Sort of like a bible of guitar scales. Ask someone there for reccomendations. I learned scales my self since I'm a self taught guitarist so check it out.

Check out Fretboard Logic. It will help you figure out scales on your own.
