AZ - He's a talented emcee who's been overshadowed by Nas throughout his career. But he's not THAT great.

Brother Ali - One of the most underrated emcees out there. Has supreme battle skills, is a very good storyteller and very introspective. Currently one of my favorites.

Talib Kweli - On paper is everything that a great emcee should be: intelligent, charismatic and talented. For whatever reason though, I've never really felt him.

Redman - A very good, goofy emcee. Never been a HUGE fan though.

Immortal Technique - The modern day Chuck D, no one better epitomizes the concept of "rap as the ghetto CNN."

Eminem - One of the most polarizing emcees out there, which he actually does intentionally. "Eminem" is a talented emcee who has above average skills in battling, storytelling and using metaphors and similes. "Slim Shady" is an annoying, overgrown adolescent.

Inspectah Deck - Probably the most overlooked and underrated member of the Wu-Tang Clan.

RA the Rugged Man - Never really been a fan.

The Game - Is actually one the few so-called gangsta rappers that I grudgingly respect. I REALLY wish he would stop name-dropping in EVERY SINGLE SONG though.

Ice Cube - A legend, although his best day were when he ran with NWA and the few years after. He provided the focused fury that NWA needed to actually get their message out properly. They fell apart without him.

Jedi Mind Tricks - Like what I've heard, but haven't heard enough to properly offer an opinion.

Aesop Rock - One of the most abstract emcees I've ever heard. One interesting note is that he almost never raps about hip hop, or typical hip hop topics.

Blackalicious - My favorite hip hop artists period. Gift of Gab is probably the most complete emcee in the game today, there's nothing he cannot rap about or any style that he cannot make his own. Chief Xcel is far and away the most underrated producer in today's hip hop world (which is partially due to the fact that he never produces for anyone outside of the Quannum family). There's no producer out there today who is better at mixing live instruments with hard hitting boom bap. One of the most soulful producers ever.

game && ice-best of tha west coast.

They all got they own Unique flavor which makes them Hot Except The Game & Ice Cube & its not B-cux there west coast Rappers I live in Cali jus I never liked them.

IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE IS THE BEST ONE UP THERE
MAYBE OLD SCHOOL EMINEM

I can't get with alot of these rappers. They have boring music that's hard to follow. I do like Eminem, The Game, & Ice Cube. I can relate to them better then the rest of these guys alot of the people I have not even heard of (i.e. Jedi Mind Tricks, Aesop Rock & RA the Rugged Man etc...).

we can't judge them, because they are successful rappers who have different styles from each other. i wouldn't diss any of them, unless they were ringtone rappers like soulja boy.

AZ - Pretty good.
Brother Ali - One of my currents favourites, SERIOUS skills.
Talib Kweli - One of the most gifted lyricists in the game.
Redman - love him, he's funny as hell.
Immortal Technique - Great rapper, has come out with some superb tracks - but is slightly ruined by some of his over-zealous fans.
Eminem - amazingly skilled rapper who has sadly fallen off in the past fe years.
Inspectah Deck - Probably the most underrated Wu member.
The Game - Ok, but not really my thing. Has skills though.
Ice Cube - Vicious - outside of LL back in the day, this is one rapper you do not want making a diss track about you. Has had some weak moments, but when he gets it right, he gets it perfect.
Jedi Mind Tricks - Like them a lot, Vinnie Paz is very talented. Sometimes they just get a bit much for me though.
Aesop Rock - I saw him live earlier this year and he was amazing. Incredible flow, and train of thought.
Blckalicious - Sublime. Gift of Gab can freestyle like something out of this world.

I don't have a big problem with any of them, except Eminem, with his 2005+ stuff

Only one I would remove from that list would be the Game. Otherwise I think they have all given a piece of their true heart to Hip Hop. As the Games name suggests he isn't really real but I feel all those other artists speak from personal experience to either tell of the ways we can end up in trouble and the paths we can seek to get out of it or find self worth.

They all make music with messages that actually explore facets of life both good and bad.

haha **** rating them they all have extreme talent not to mention original styles

they all suck and the world would be a better place without them!
