What does this lyric mean?!

Question: I heard this song but can't find the lyrics to it. I know this part though... because it's the title. "Knees Up Heather Please" by Frantic Chant (from Edinburgh). What does the phrase "knees up" mean, if anything? If it's some sorted UK slang, I don't want it going over my head.

yea, it probably refers to a good drink. on the other hand, if Heather actually put her knees up......leave it to the imagination.

A "knees up" is another name for a party.

Hope this helps!

A 'knees up' is a reference to a party traditionally - 'we're having a bit of a knees up this friday, wanna come along' etc.

a good old knees up is a Scottish term for having a good time

To 'Knees Up" is to party. This is what it means in the UK. If you say to someone you are going to a 'Knees Up', then you are going to a party or a dance. Hence a 'Knees Up' meaning to party, i.e dance. In a party you dance (given enough alcohol in my case lol!!) so 'Knees Up' is a meaning for a party or dance in the UK.
But I would say given in the lyrics you have given it means to 'dance'. xXx
