R&P : Are people SHOCKED .. ?!
Question: When they find out about your hobbies which are so contrasting and un-stereotypical(a word?) to the music you listen to..
For EXAMPLE :
I am a big fan of punk rock.. but i am quite a calm guy who likes quite times and relaxing and someone who likes to play COLDPLAY and RADIOHEAD on guitar during free times.
Anyone similar ?

i love metal. (hair metal) is my favorite. im older, love muscle cars, play drums, and ride motocross...im older now and still do those things. , but i respect my elders, hold doors open for little old ladies and get along with everyone...you wouldnt know this but i also love yard work and sitting out back on my deck and relaxing with a magazine/or book.....i bit different anfter jamming to ratt all day
yes I'm 45 and i drive a school bus so when the kids see me wear band t-shirts and they are of Ozzy, black sabbath, zeppelin, metallica and all the others that i like they are a little surprised,,, also I'm on the quite side .lol
Oh yes. Very much so. Because I tend to listen to things like the Dead people sometimes think a different spirit has taken over my body when I put in things like Dolly Parton or Clutch. Some times I like to 'get my metal on' and sometimes I like to 'get my hoe-down' on. Sometimes I like to just trip out and spin in circles. So....yeah I shock a lot of people with my drastically varied personality. Needless to say I like to hike/nature type stuff and I like living in the city and all that comes with it.
I am a self confessed Led Head. But i listen to all manner of music so nothing surprises people.
Yes, I'm heavy into 80's trash and hardcore punk. Most of the time people are shocked when they find out that I read constantly, don't experiment with mood-altering chemicals (anymore), listen to soft acoustic sounds, and like to have my apartment really clean!!!! I think music is very influential and a large part of our lives, but that doesn't mean we have to act and dress and behave like the majority of the genres followers.
I'm with you though, I get the "well, I never would have guessed" about me quite a bit...
Yes!!! I'm an anarchist, but I'm a very calm person (except when it comes to politics). I also listen to a lot of classical music...my favorite composer is Eric Satie. I have the punk ideology, but I don't look/dress like a punk and I do listen to punk music, but not religiously...
It really depends on my mood. I listen to wide array genres of music so I really don't mind listening to blues or punk rock or alternative or pop. It depends on my mood on what to listen. I also play the guitar and I also have the same kind of behavior when listening to music.
